「KITCHIBE/likestone」is produced by Shiono Koryo, a fragrance company with over 200 years of history, Hosengama, a Mino ware ceramics company, and TAKUMI SHIMAMURA/Qurz Inc., a designer who specializes in organic expression. This new home fragrance brand was created from a collaboration between three companies.
Shiono Koryo was founded in 1808 in Doshomachi, Osaka. We achieved success with Japan's first domestically produced citrus essence, and have established a strong position not only in fragrances but also in the flavor field. Together with related companies in Taiwan and China, we provide fragrances on a B2B basis both domestically and internationally.
Hosengama was founded in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, which is famous for Mino ware. Starting with the production of rice bowls, the company expanded from Japan to the rest of the world as ramen and izakaya restaurants expanded overseas. In January 2016, at Maison et Objet in France, we announced the "likestone" series, a ceramic brand that looks like stone. It attracts attention of the whole world.
Designer 「TAKUMI SHIMAMURA」 released the cedar bag 「monacca」 in 2004. By continuing to use organic materials, from wood and paper to shapes and finishes, we have gained many loyal clients and fans.
The brand 「KITCHIBE」 is based on the theme of 「Japanese craftsmanship x organic design」 and expresses the 「fragrance」associated with Japan with a ceramic design that looks like stone. There are 6 scents: SAKURA, WASHI, MATCHA, YUKI, KITCHIBE, and YUZU. All are original designs born from Japan's climate, history, and temperament.
